American College of Radiology

CoC Member since 1953

The American College of Radiology (ACR) serves patients and society by empowering our members to advance the practice, science, and professions of radiological care. Commission on Cancer (CoC) membership is important to the organization because ACR has long stood for consistent, high-quality patient care achieved through evidence-based processes including appropriate rigorous accreditation processes.

Variability in facility and physician performance is a primary reason for heterogeneity of patient care and healthcare costs. CoC accreditation allows patients and referring physicians and other providers to have trust and confidence in the healthcare facilities and provider teams.

ACR is pleased to partner with the CoC and American College of Surgeons in advancing high-quality care. Diagnostic imaging, radiation oncology, and minimally invasive therapies are critical elements of the full spectrum of cancer care from early detection through staging, treatment, and disease monitoring.
