Henry Ford Health System

Accredited since 1931

Southwest Detroit Region, Michigan

The value of Commission on Cancer (CoC) accreditation has long been recognized, initially as Henry Ford Hospital, and now as an integrated network known as Henry Ford Health System (HFHS), for many years. HFHS values CoC accreditation as it ensures a level of commitment to provide the best possible care for our cancer patients, including, but not limited to, a full scope of comprehensive services required to diagnose, treat, rehabilitate, and support patients with cancer and their families. Moreover, participating in CoC accreditation allows opportunities to access important cancer-specific data to implement improvement opportunities for both patient care as well as cancer programming, resulting in better efficiencies and outcomes. The continuous commitment to CoC accreditation reaffirms the commitment of HFHS to provide the best cancer care for our patients.

Henry Ford Hospital was first accredited in October 1931, and in a few short months, will celebrate the 90th year of continuous accreditation from the American College of Surgeons Commission on Cancer.  In 2021, Henry Ford Health System opened a dedicated outpatient cancer facility, Brigitte Cancer Pavilion, the heart of the Henry Ford Cancer Institute. With five hospital locations and seven additional outpatient cancer centers, HFHS is committed to providing integrated cancer teams to ensure that cancer patients have access to the latest advances in cancer treatment, research, clinical trials, and support throughout their entire cancer journey.
