Assistant Director, Professional Services and Accreditation, 1954
Robert S. Myers, MD, FACS, Assistant Director of the American College of Surgeons, led the Department of Professional Services and Accreditation from July to November 1954. In this role, he oversaw the work of the Commission on Cancer.
Previously an instructor in surgery at Harvard University Medical School, Dr. Myers joined the College in 1951 as a hospital surveyor and became administrative assistant in 1953. Born in Franklin, PA, he received his medical education at Harvard and the Peter Bent Brigham-Children’s Hospitals
